The prices displayed on our Web Site or in our catalog are quoted in U.S. Dollars and are valid and effective only in the U.S. We attempt to be as accurate as possible. However, we cannot warrant that product descriptions or other content of this site is complete, reliable, current, or error-free. If a product offered by us is not as described, your sole remedy is to return it in unused condition.
Shipping and Handling
SSi delivery times and processes may vary depending on the content of your order. At times, we may be required to ship your order in multiple packages and on different business days.
When placing an order you may use the following payment methods: American Express, MasterCard, Visa, and debit cards with the MasterCard or Visa logo. If you currently have an account with SSi, you will be able to pay using your regular payment terms.
From time to time there may be information on our Web Site or in our catalog that contains typographical errors, inaccuracies, or omissions that may relate to product descriptions, pricing, and availability. SSi reserves the right to correct any errors, inaccuracies or omissions and to change or update information at any time without prior notice (including after you have submitted your order).
Warranty & Return Policy
Merchandise can be returned to SSi for credit or exchange within 30 days after the date of shipment with the prior approval of SSi’s Customer Service and/or your sales representative. Before returning any items for credit, repair or replacement, please call Customer Service at 1-800-251-3000 and obtain a Return Materials Authorization (RMA) number and sterilization form. Items must be received by SSI within 30 days of issue or the RMA number will be voided.
Merchandise returned after 30 days but before 90 days may be assessed a 25% restocking charge. After 90 days from shipping date, merchandise cannot be returned for credit.
Merchandise cannot be returned for credit if:
- Returned more than 90 days from the shipping date
- Specifically ordered, custom made or modified for the customer
- Engraved instruments or instruments etched by hospital
- Used and/or processed
- Used beyond maximum specifications
- Discontinued products
- Evaluation items not returned in original condition
Items that do not comply with the corporate return policy must be approved by an executive officer.
SSi guarantees that any surgical instrument bearing the Ultra Instruments name will be free of defects in materials and workmanship when used under normal conditions for its intended surgical purpose. Merchandise returned as “defective” is inspected and evaluated by SSi Quality Control, and the SSi Repair Department. In the event SSi determines an instrument is defective, SSi will, at its sole option, either repair or replace the instrument. If an instrument is repaired or replaced, the warranty period is pro-rated such that the total warranty period for the original and repaired/replaced instrument cannot exceed 30 days.
Many of the instruments shown in the SSi catalogs are manufactured and hand finished by skilled craftsmen. Consequently, there may be slight variations in the dimensions of an instrument from those given in the listed specifications. Instruments custom etched by SSi with customer’s initials, name, etc., will be subject to a charge of $4.00 per instrument. This charge is in addition to any applicable restocking fee.
All goods are carefully packaged to prevent damage in transit. If merchandise arrives in a damaged condition, report it immediately to the local agent of the carrier. If there is a shortage of merchandise, or “hidden” damage, please report it to SSi as soon as possible and include a description of the condition of the shipping container. It is a great help if the container can be retained for examination by either the carrier’s agent or by SSi.

THE FOREGOING SETS FORTH THE EXCLUSIVE REMEDIES FOR ALL CLAIMS BASED ON FAILURE OF OR DEFECT IN THE PRODUCTS PROVIDED UNDER THIS AGREEMENT, WHETHER THE FAILURE OR DEFECT ARISES BEFORE OR DURING THE APPLICABLE WARRANTY PERIOD AND WHETHER A CLAIM, HOWEVER INSTITUTED, IS BASED ON CONTRACT, INDEMNITY, WARRANTY, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY OR OTHERWISE. THE FOREGOING REMEDIES ARE EXCLUSIVE AND ARE IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES AND GUARANTEES WHETHER WRITTEN, ORAL, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY.
